Waxing, Threading & Tinting
Wax covers ground fast and keeps large areas smooth for weeks. Thread gives a single-hair precision that wax can't reach. Tint finishes the shape. Most people end up using all three — and we'll tell you which does what for your face.
Wax or Thread?
Two techniques, two different jobs
They're not rivals — they're tools. Here's how we choose between them.
Our usual advice
Thread the brows and upper lip where precision decides the result. Wax the arms, legs, back and bikini where speed and coverage matter more.
Growing it out
Both need about two to three weeks of growth — roughly a grain of rice in length. Turning up freshly shaved means we can't remove from the root.
Planning laser too?
Stop waxing, threading and plucking the area four weeks before laser starts — the laser needs the root in place to find. More on laser →
Brow & Lash Tinting
Definition without the daily pencil
A semi-permanent tint darkens the hairs themselves — including the fine, invisible ones around the edges of your brows that no pencil ever catches. The result is fuller-looking, more defined brows and lashes that hold for roughly three to five weeks.

✦
Wake up ready
The single biggest time-saver on this menu. No brow routine, no mascara, nothing to smudge at the gym or in the pool.
-
✦
Ideal for fair or sparse brows
Blonde, grey and light-brown brows gain shape and presence they simply don't have untinted — and it reads far softer than drawn-on product.
-
✦
Better with a shape
Tint after threading or waxing and the shape is what gets defined — the reason we usually book them together.
-
✦
Patch test first
Tint is a dye, so a patch test is done at least 24 hours ahead of your first appointment. Please plan for that when booking.

Good to Know
Getting the best result
About a quarter of an inch — two to three weeks of growth for most people. Too short and wax or thread can't get a grip, which means patchy results and a return visit. Resist the razor in the fortnight beforehand.
There's a sharp moment and then it's done. Threading is a repeated light sting rather than one pull. Underarms and bikini are the most sensitive areas, and it genuinely gets easier with regular appointments as the hair grows back finer. Booking away from the few days before your period helps too.
For 24 to 48 hours: no hot baths, saunas, swimming pools, sunbeds or heavy workouts, and skip perfumed products on the area. From day three, gentle exfoliation two or three times a week is the best thing you can do to prevent ingrown hairs. Keep the skin moisturised.
Not on that area. Retinoids, acids and recent peels thin and loosen the surface skin, and wax can lift it. Stop facial retinoids for about five to seven days beforehand, or simply choose threading instead — it's the standard alternative for exactly this reason. Recent oral acne medication means waiting considerably longer; tell us and we'll advise.
Every three to four weeks keeps everything on the same growth cycle, which is what makes each appointment quicker and more comfortable than the last. Brows are usually every two to three weeks, tinting every three to five.
